Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985, in Los Angeles. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics before she realized her talent for sprinting when she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she came in second place in the 200 meter sprint in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal in 2004 at the Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record doing 200 m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world winner in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, defeating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She often finished at the top of the podium in every event.
